A German Reunion

Remember our motto? “It feels like home!” This is the hostel where everyone feels at home and where life-long friends are made.

If you don’t believe me, check out the comments on our Facebook group. It was started by former guests at the hostel about a year ago and already has close to 500 members!

Bjorn from Scandinavia and beautiful Katrin from Germany were both guests in the Summer of 2007.? They can attest to the fact that good friends are made at the Canadiana.

Both Katrin and Bjorn stayed with us through Christmas of ’07 and if you check out out Christmas blog, Katrin posted a comment that she “had eaten turkey for the first time in her life” and she loved it!

We live in an ever shrinking world and virtually all backpackers can claim friends from all around the world.

As happens so often with past guests, Bjorn and Katrin met up for a reunion in Europe and Bjorn even wore the ubiquitious Canadiana T-Shirt for the occasion!

Thanks for sending us the pics guys. We miss you both.

Hello guys, coincidentelly landed on your site again and found this entry about Bjorn and I. Actually, on the second picture I am also wearing a Canadiana cap. If you look very close you might recognize it.

The picutres were made when Bjorn joined me and my friends at our annual weekend of camping at the Baltic Sea last year. This is were I am from originally. Very beautiful, isnt it? So, if anyone wants to come over this year it will be the last weekend of May :)

By the way, as I have not talked to you in ages. I am living in Berlin now, working for a solar panel company as a process engineer. My company has a factory in Arizona, so probably in summer I will be in North America again to visit this factory. Maybe I can stop by in Toronto on my way back. Would be happy to see you all again.

Now that I started thinking about it. I am back in Germany for 10 months now and still have lots of good contacts to friends I met in Toronto. Björn visited me. With english Dan, canadian Ben and german Chris I celebrated New Years in Berlin. The dutch guys Rein, Gerbert and Maarten I met at the Zürich airport. What a great coincidence. :) Rein visited me in December for german christmas markets. Spanish Paula was here in January. Andrea and Nils live in Berlin too. Actually Andrea and I will go out tonight going to a concert and then clubbing.

Ok, now I have to stop. This has been a much longer comment than I wanted too. I could write essays about all these great reunions. Wish you all the best and all present and future guests as much a good time as I had.

    Katrin
