So Long Doughy

Steve Kelly (a.k.a. “Doughy”) has been a fixture at our Toronto Hostel for over two years.

Doughy, a gourmet chef, was working in a high-end, fine dining establishment in Toronto’s  entertainment district.

He was a very well-known and very popular character in the area and could be seen regularly at our backpackers “local”, the Fox and Fiddle.

Doughy felt it was time to move on and has headed home to the Emerald Isles. A lot of people were sad to see him leave - especially the management of the Fox as he was easily their very best customer.

Most of Doughy’s friends showed up at the Fox for a big party a few days before he left. The management donated free pool for the entire night and bought him the most delicious cheesecake with the inscription “Jog On” as Doughy was constantly telling people.

So he’s gone back to Dublin with plans to work and travel to Barcelona possibly.

I very much doubt that we have seen the last of Doughy here.  He has made too many friends here and I’m sure he will miss them as much as they miss him.

You know where we are Doughy! You are welcome back anytime!
