Toronto’s 28th Vegetarian Festival

“Eat your Veggies!”, parents have been admonishing their children to do just that for generations. It’s not a new fad or concept. We all know the importance of vegetables in our diets.

This year, it will be held from the September 4th to 7th (immediately following the Labour Day closing of the annual Canadian National Exhibition).

The event will feature more than 100 Vegetarian Food Vendors, vegetarian celebrity chefs, nutritionists, writers and world-class athletes, all touting the benefits of a vegetarian diet. In addition food preparation demonstrations will be given by experts.

Vegetarianism is a movement that is definitely here to stay, As an inveterate carnivore, I am loath to admit that, in truth, it is a far healthier life choice.

There is actually scientific evidence that a largely vegan diet can prevent and actually reverse heart disease. Former U.S. President, Bill Clinton has converted to this diet after suffering heart problems.
